Female FSH Health Test Kit
The U-Test Female FSH Health Test Kit is an at-home screen for follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). A single home result cannot diagnose menopause, infertility or ovarian reserve, and it cannot predict whether someone can become pregnant.
How to interpret an FSH screen
FSH levels vary, and the result needs to be understood in context. NICE says that menopause in otherwise healthy people aged 45 or over is usually identified from symptoms without laboratory tests. NICE recommends considering an FSH blood test only in specific situations, including symptoms between ages 40 and 45 or suspected menopause under 40. The home kit is not a substitute for that clinical assessment.
Read the NICE menopause recommendations. Speak with a GP or menopause clinician if you have symptoms, are under 45, use hormonal contraception, or need advice about fertility.
Using the kit
Follow the sample method and result window printed in the instructions supplied with your kit. The product packaging states a 3-minute result time. A screening result should not be used by itself to make decisions about contraception, fertility treatment or hormone therapy.
FSH test questions
Can this test confirm menopause?
No. An at-home FSH screen cannot confirm menopause. For many people aged 45 or over, NICE recommends identifying menopause from symptoms rather than hormone tests.
Does FSH tell me whether I am fertile?
No. One FSH screen does not measure ovarian reserve or determine whether you can become pregnant. Ask a GP or fertility specialist about an appropriate assessment.
What should I do with an unexpected result?
Discuss it with a healthcare professional alongside your age, symptoms, cycle and medicines. Do not change contraception or treatment based only on a home result.
For another focused screen, see the Thyroid Health Test. If you are considering fertility testing, the Couples Fertility Bundle also includes a male sperm concentration screen.
